Happy New Year!

PLPP
We skied in PLPP on New Year’s eve. There is fresh snow over the tracksetting, but it’s still in pretty good shape. We skied Whiskey Jack, Pocaterra, Lynx, Amos, Wheeler. The best tracks were in the north end on Pocaterra, Lynx, Amos. They had just been groomed and trackset on the 30th, so the tracks were still good.  That long, fun run down Pocaterra from Whiskey Jack junction was a bit slower today with all the soft tracks.

It was an excellent day of skiing! Hilly fun might describe it best.  Everyone and their dog(literally!) were skiing at West Bragg Creek on New Year’s day. Most trails are trackset and in good shape.  There were a few places with some wind-blown snow where the tracks were washed out, but overall conditions were fine.  Chip, Michael and I skied the Elbow trail down to Allan Bill Pond and returned on the Iron Springs trail, and did the east Crystal line on the way back. Lots of small hills that are very enjoyable here.  The last 1K down to the pond is a bit rough because of all the people walking on it. Very good snow for West Bragg at this time of year.  The photo above, appropriately enough, is on the Sundog trail. When we returned from skiing at 2 pm, the parking lot was full and the temp was -7C.
