Skiing for three days in a row…

It’s been a while since I could say that. First I want to say thanks to everyone who has sent in comments while I haven’t been out skiing myself. Much appreciated.

What’s everyone looking at? Pocaterra trail. Feb 10, 2010

Peter Lougheed Prov Park

Today I was in PLPP on the north end trails and conditions were great. Pocaterra, Lynx, Woolley, Meadow, Wheeler. Packers was okay if you were ascending, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re descending, however. There’s a large ice flow on one of the steep hills and the conditions are breakneck fast. No problem if you’re going up. If you are curious about what everyone is looking at, see more  PLPP photos

Why am I celebrating? Kicking Horse River trail. Feb 9, 2010

Yoho and Emerald Lake

The trails in Yoho and around Emerald Lake were in prime condition. The Kicking Horse River trail was a touch icy, but it didn’t create any problems other than we had to add some wax.  If you’ve never skied the Emerald Connector, you should add it to your list of priorities. If you enjoy skiing on Fox Creek and Moraine in PLPP, this is even better and a lot longer. It’s like being on a roller coaster. See more, including wolf tracks Yoho photos

Where can you find great tracks like this? Check the PLPP photo album.

Lake Louise

On our way to Yoho, we skied the Fairview loop at Lake Louise. Moraine Lake road was in good shape, Fairview was wonderful, and Tramline was fast. There’s a new trail on Fairview which bypasses the steep hill. It’s slightly longer, but it’s much easier. See more Lake Louise photos
