Frozen Thunder

It’s for real!

Welcome back everyone!!!!

1 K of snow at Canmore Nordic Centre

It’s been trucked in and packed. I’m assuming they’re waiting for tonight’s cool temperatures to groom it for skiing. Not sure what we’ll get – it might just be corduroy, or will we also get some tracks for the classic crowd? Whatever, this is an incredibly wonderful development for mid-October.

I’ll be scraping the summer wax off my skis tonight. Yesss!!!

I’ve noticed a big increase in traffic to the blog today.

Snow guns at the ready

The snow guns are scattered around the nordic centre, ready to make snow if the temperatures get cold enough.

Your feedback/comments are always welcome. If you have a question about skiing, feel free to email me at bobtruman@shaw.ca. If you would like to share something with all our cross-country skiing fanatics, click on the “Leave a Comment” below.

Where did they find a fridge big enough for all that snow ????

You may have noticed the Top Skiing Blog award on the masthead. Imagine my surprise when I received an email in the middle of July, informing me that we won. I say “we” deliberately, because this blog is only as successful as the readers and contributors make it. Keep the comments coming. We were competing with all ski blogs including the thousands of downhill sites out there.
