Excellent conditions this morning on Frozen Thunder. I didn’t count, but there had to be at least 100 skiers enjoying the good snow. For all the traffic, everyone was being courteous to us slower skiers. I didn’t get run over once. I think everyone is just happy to have a place to ski.

Wax worked well if you were classic skiing and the track was in nice shape. There’s an optional steep hill which had excellent snow and made for a vigorous climb and a fast downhill. A few dirt patches started showing up in the tracks later on, but they were easy enough to avoid.

If you haven’t been following this blog, Frozen Thunder is a 700 metre trail of groomed and trackset snow. It was originally made from snow which was saved over the summer, but now it has some fresh man-made snow which has really rejuvenated it. There’s an optional steep hill which adds about another 200 metres.

Just a reminder, if you haven’t entered the contest, there’s a few dates still available Win a SkiHere.ca toque. There’s snow in the forecast!
