New tracks in PLPP

Update Jan 8: You can add Blueberry Hill, Patterson and all of Elk Pass to the list

More tracksetting was completed in Peter Lougheed Prov Park last night. There’s now a good variety of trails with new tracksetting including:

Pocaterra
Wheeler
Packers
Whiskey Jack
Tyrwhitt
Lookout
Hydroline
Elk Pass(trailhead to North Hydroline)
Upper Lake Connector

The remainder of the trails have pretty good snow cover and are skiable in skier-set tracks. The PLPP webcam reads -5 this morning. The forecast is for warmer temperatures on Sunday and Monday, so to quote Nancy, “get your butts out here!”

The Banff trail report indicates that the Pipestone trails at Lake Louise are being trackset today. With those completed, everything at LL should be in prime condition, and it will be staying cooler there.

  1. Good advice, Bob. We “got our butts out there” today (Jan 7th) and were rewarded with the best conditions we’ve personally had this year. A bit cool starting out, but we warmed up nicely climbing up Whiskey Jack. With the sun shining down on the pristine meadows along Trywhitt, we were in heaven!
