Welcome back, winter!

Update from Tracksetter Jeff:

“Kananaskis Village area received close to 20 cm in this storm. All of the trails have been groomed around the Village, good conditions for the most part with a few icy patches until you get to Aspen. Nakiska reporting 27cm, I’ll be grooming up on Skogan Pass tomorrow.”

I was happy to see the new snow this morning. I’ve been in Calgary for the past two days and will be here for one more(change of plans now that I’ve seen Jeff’s update!). From Canmore, Cheryl reports intermittent snow all day with an accumulation of 6-8 cm. Watching the news, it looked pretty dangerous around Lac Des Arcs.

If anyone was skiing today, we’d be interested in what you found. You know the procedure – leave a comment on the Trip Reports page, please. (The January Trip Reports page has been viewed 2628 times).

The PLPP trail report from yesterday shows that Lynx, Woolley, Amos and Meadow were trackset. It indicated there wouldn’t be an update today, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t out tracksetting. Mount Shark should also be on the agenda this week. It will be interesting to see what transpired around Kananaskis Village and Ribbon Creek.

Banff trail report indicates that Cascade Valley was trackset today, so they obviously received some new snow. With the colder weather, it should be a destination of choice right now.

The tracksetters at Lake Louise have been busy as usual with most of the trails having been done in the past two days.
