Grooming at Canmore Nordic Centre

Sunday Apr 15 @ 7:40 a.m.

The GPS map from the Canmore nordic centre shows that most of the trails have been groomed and presumably trackset overnight. It snowed a lot yesterday and turned cold enough for quite a bit of fresh snow to accumulate. It’s -7 right now with a predicted high of +2 from Environment Canada. It might be suitable for wax this morning.

Peter was enjoying excellent skating conditions at the Canmore nordic centre on Apr 9, 2012

Every time we hear the grooming is finished at Lake Louise, we get news to the contrary. Helen Read was skiing on Moraine Lake road and Fairview yesterday on new tracksetting.

There’s nothing like some new snow to re-kindle interest in skiing. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the blog tallied 947 views yesterday. The photos which I’ve attached are from skiing on Monday, but I never had time to post. Peter was skating on a freshly groomed skating lane and I had good success on klister on the new tracks.

Guess the trail

I’ve changed the photos on the blog header; can anyone name the three trails which are pictured? They’re all in PLPP.

  1. Is there a ladies group that goes out cross-country skiing during the week that I might hook up with from time to time?

  2. I’m guessing the photos are:
    Lynx
    Wheeler
Elk Pass, just north of Patterson junction.

    Any prizes involved!?

    GB

    Wheeler – correct.
    Elk Pass – correct.
Lynx??? You’re not far off. It connects to Lynx.

No prizes, just bragging rights. -Bob
