Two weeks into Frozen Thunder

It’s holding up well, and with the predicted cold temperatures and new snow this weekend, it should only get better.

I finally scraped the storage wax from my skate skis and did a few laps late this afternoon. I was thinking to myself that the snow was in need of some freshening up, at which time I talked to Daniel Kerr from Guelph, Ontario.

Daniel gave me a reality check. He was thrilled with the conditions and was happy to have this oasis of snow that we call Frozen Thunder. He said they’re usually well into December before they have any decent snow to ski on.

It reached a high of 6°C today in Canmore, but that’s the last of the “warm” temperatures. The weather forecast looks very promising. This snow is supposed to hit the mountains and Calgary:
