This was sent at 2:57 pm from the snowcat as Jeff was making the first pass on Skogan loop…

The Live Grooming Report shows Skogan pass has been groomed all the way to the summit. Other trails completed today include Hidden, Troll falls, Sunburst and High Level.

“Skogan Pass trails had about 10-15cm on the lower sections increasing to well over 30 cm on the upper trails. Temperatures got up to 3 or 4 today even more on sun exposed slopes. Expect variable conditions with the best skiing at higher elevations.”

All the Mt Shark trails were groomed last night(Thursday). There should be some grooming completed in PLPP tonight. Usually on Friday night it’s Pocaterra hut to Packers and Lynx. Check the PLPP Live Grooming Report in the morning.

Paul sent me an email with this report on Pipestone:

The pipestone loop was tracked this morning. Early afternoon ski starting at -3oC and ending at +1oC. V40 worked well (blue extra). Merlin was particularly good – first time I’ve incorporated it into the perimeter loop. Should hold up for tomorrow.

Update: Check Helen Read’s Trip Report for an update on the bear. The following was posted on Facebook by Banff National Park. The message is a bit cryptic, but if I had to guess, this would be on the Baker creek to Castle Lookout trail(click on photo for a larger image. Bear tracks look so much like human feet)

Share the trail! Carry bear spray with you at all times and know how to use it, particularly along the Bow Valley Parkway.
