More trails open at CNC

An additional 600 metres of snow was open for skiing this morning at Canmore Nordic Centre on the Centennial trail. That’s one of the competition trails above the daylodge.

The Pisten-Bully was up there pushing around more snow, so I expect there will be additional terrain open soon.

It was much warmer today with an air temperature of -1°C and snow temp of -3. Snow making continues and I noticed lots of snow had been pushed around on many trails including Banff trail.

It’s nice to see some snow in the forecast. Not much, but anything would help.

You have until midnight on Friday to enter the Mountaineer Lodge contest.

Update Nov 20 @ 8:53 pm:

While I was in Calgary today, I stopped at Lifesport where Kate made the draw for the winner of the Fischer Skis Contest. I’m just waiting for the winner to acknowledge my email, at which time the name will be announced.

I sure wasn’t impressed by the +10°C temperature in the city today. I don’t imagine the golf courses will be in very good shape for skiing after this.

Chuck sent me the below photo of ice skating on a famous lake yesterday. Anyone know where this is?

  1. Wow, I can’t recall ever seeing Lake Louise without snow on it in winter!
