I received this email from Ken Hewitt. It contains important information related to World Cup Events at the Canmore Nordic Centre over the next 8 weeks:

The actual race week is Feb. 1-7, with actual races on Feb. 4, 5, 6 and 7, but already there are impacts on parking lots and ski trails. Lot #2 (between Trail Sports and Bill Warren Training Centre) is closed to accommodate wax cabins, and Lot #1 (Biathlon) will be soon closed for TV production. During race week, the only way to get to Nordic Centre will be on shuttle bus. Full details at CanmoreBiathlon.ca
Recreational skiers will be able to mostly resume normal skiing after Feb 7 until the Cross Country World Cup set-up begins around Feb. 27 with the race week being March 7-12 – with races on March 8, 9, 11 and 12. Again, parking lot closures will begin around Feb. 27, and during race week access will only be by shuttle bus. SkiTourCanada.ca

Suddenly that WBC place looks more and more attractive. Not only you get tax receipt but the place is much closer to the city. You spend more time skiing and less driving. Spend less money on gas. Nobody will tell you that you aren’t welcome, on the contrary bring your four legged friend with you. I have to reconsider the next skiing season.
