Less than a year ago, Nordic ski clubs in Calgary learned that WinSport would no longer be supporting cross country skiing at Canada Olympic Park. With the generous support of Calgarians and a vibrant cross country skiing community that stepped up and gave their time and money, Foothills Nordic Ski Club and the Calgary Ski Club were able to provide Nordic ski facilities that offered safe terrain for all abilities.
Whether as part of a club or program, or as individuals seeking fresh air and exercise, ski facilities at Confederation Park and Shaganappi Golf Courses provided Calgarians with free access to cross-country skiing throughout this past winter. At Confederation Park Golf Course, we piloted improved snow making, farming and grooming to provide more consistently reliable snow conditions.
As the ski season winds down, we’d like to take this opportunity to gauge the satisfaction of skiers with the facilities that were provided this year. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete the survey found at this link. Results from the survey will be considered as we work on further improvements to ski facilities in the city.
