Update Jan 24: Sold out!
Here’s your chance to get all decked out for the “Wooden Ski Race” at the Lake Louise Loppet this year. I received the below email from Paul at Sundre Bike ‘N Ski Club:
“We are looking at setting up a rental side of our club to support tourists and community members that want to try skiing. We recently had a donation of 25 sets of wooden 3 pin xc skis, boots, and poles that are brand new. We could set these up for rental but I feel that they require too much care and wouldn’t work well for this use. Ideally we would sell this gear and purchase gear more appropriate for rentals.”
A complete set as pictured with skis, boots and poles is selling for $100.00. They have a large selection of ski sizes from 140 cm – 210 cm, and boots from 35 – 47.
If interested, contact Paul Sundrebikenski@gmail.com
or phone Paul at 403-419-9856.
They also have a website Sundre Bike ‘N Ski
The donors of this equipment have a further 100 sets of skis, boots, and poles which could also be purchased.

Sounds like a great program! We’re busy trying to furnish our own program with gear for kids but if we ever have something to give we’ll give it!
I’ve had a huge amount of interest about these skis! Most of the longer lengths are spoken for though I have 170cm and 180cm skis left, also some shorter pairs, and shoes size 9 to 6. Just email to see what there is left!
I have a pair of new wooden skis very similar I got in a ski sale, I did not purchase them to ski but instead as ornaments, they adorn a wall in my house and I really like them, just saying!
