Chuck has made some epic ski trips but this one surpasses all in distance, tough conditions, and the ultimate objective.

Where are we going? Photo by Chuck

I’ve been a keen follower of the reintroduction of bison to Banff National Park, and if I was young and fit, this journey would be at the top of my “to do” list.

Check out all 15 photos from Chuck’s trip. The ptarmigan photo is amazing.

This is Chuck’s report:

“Consider this as an extension to my January 24 report, north of Cuthead.

Battling 30 cms of snow falling all day (obliterating our return tracks), seeing the Bison was only half the excitement! The highlight was my first ever sighting of a Bat in full glide. We also enjoyed seeing numerous Ptarmigan, flushed out by our passing.”

Here’s a link to the Jan 24 Cuthead photos including a beautiful picture of a lynx.

Wow! What an amazing trip report. And those photos are fantastic. Especially the lynxes.
