Thanks to Keith for sending in these photos and the report:
Hi Bob,
I enjoyed MaSid’s stories of tracks in the snow.
Last Tuesday the Seniors’ Outdoor Club of Calgary hiked in PLPP. One of our groups hiked to the Lookout via Whiskey Jack. They found large grizzly tracks up Whiskey Jack.
Pictures (by Bala) are attached. They were remarkable in their great definition.
Cheers,
Keith
Wonderful! As good as a fingerprint maybe. Came across some fresh black bear tracks this morning along the trail to heally pass. Less detail so no palm reading. Lots of older wolverine tracks in the trees on the south end of monarch rampart. Nice terrain for ski touring down at that end. And some massive larches. Found one that must have been a meter in diameter at chest height.
The hills are alive with the sound of… music to my senses. Going fast IS fun but thoroughly enjoy shared observations of nature as often.
