“Hi Bob,

We were hiking near Lake Louise today, and stopped at the start of Moraine Lake road to see what we might find.  It’s all snow covered, though pretty thin (3-4 cm uncompressed) by the parking area.  Likely the snow depth gets better quickly as elevation is gained, as there was lots of snow where we hiked.  A couple of ski tracks were visible near the start, so someone has tested things out a bit.  As you’ve been mentioning,  looks like a reasonable chance of 5-10cm for the Louise area over the next few days.”

Nice to see the grooming equipment is ready to go.

Forecasts for Lake Louise:

  • Snow Forecast is predicting 7 cm by Sunday night.
  • Weather Network is 6 cm.
  • Windy is 17 cm.
  • Ventusky is 19 cm.

Temperatures are predicted to stay around zero or cooler, so any snow that falls should stick around.

Have you entered the Elk Pass contest? So far we have 68 entries and the most popular dates are Nov 22, 28, and 29.
