As we heard from Kat, Martin and Jip yesterday, West Bragg Creek is skiable but is still rough. Groomer Jeff H in his Groomer’s report specified which trails are to be avoided:
“West Bragg Creek received a meager 5 cm of snow Friday night but groomers were able to pack a number of core trails to establish some early season skiing.
Best bets are the Crystal Lines, Mountain Road and Hostel Meadow. Places to avoid include the Perimeter Trail, Mountain View, Hostel Loop, and Loggers.
Snow is thin so ski with caution!”
First, apologies for not posting in trip reports. Couldn’t get that going for some reason.
Sun nov 25: Elk/blueberry
-6 to start at 9. -3 on return at 1230. Went in via fox creek. Thin, but just adequate to not hurt the skis. The usual debrit, better conditions on south half. Blueberry only saw a couple skiers yesterday. More today of course. Put in a second track for safer descents. Still fresh stuff that hasn’t been packed down yet, although that will likely change after today. Still rough cat tracks at the end. Descent was easy. Had to pull the plug after that though, bad ankle day having switched to the lighter gear. Hopefully not joining the injury reserve list with bob. There’s couches to be built after all! )-: The skis I found at the lot on Friday have disappeared, hopefully picked up by the rightful owner.
