Wednesday morning update

Spray River West. File photo.

Good news already this morning from Chuck at 9:10 a.m….

“Spray River is currently being trackset!

Ski you there!”

I don’t know how much snow fell yesterday/last night in Canmore and Banff but from the road reports it sounded like a significant amount.

The Ribbon Creek tracksetter has just headed out from Kananaskis Village on the Bill Milne trail.

In PLPP last night, Meadow, Wheeler, Amos and Woolley were trackset.

On Mary’s trip report from Lake Louise yesterday, she indicated 5-6 cm of new snow. New tracksetting at LL includes Moraine Lake road, Great Divide, Tramline, Lower Telemark, and the Bow River Loop.

For my readers in the southeast corner of the province, the Cypress Hills trails are in the process of being groomed this morning.

I don’t think the Canmore Nordic Centre’s weather station is giving accurate temperature readings. The daylodge thermometer has been stuck at -4.7 for the past several days.

  1. 12 cm at West Bragg Creek

  2. Nakiska is reporting 5 cm so I would assume Ribbon Creek is the same.

  3. 5 cms in Banff
