The golden age of West Bragg Creek

Late afternoon sun on the Aspen trees at West Bragg Creek parking lot

I enjoyed pleasant fall weather along with spectacular colours for my bike ride at West Bragg Creek on Friday Oct 2.

Starting out on Mountain road

You don’t have to drive very far from Calgary to see beautiful fall colours. In fact, the nice scenery starts before you even leave Calgary. Paskapoo slopes are vibrant right now, and you’ll see plenty of shimmering gold Aspen trees on the drive out to West Bragg Creek.

If you’re not into doing long hikes or bike rides, the scenery starts right in the parking lot at West Bragg.

Yesterday’s ride included Mountain road, Old Shell road, Moose Loop, Tom Snow, and Mountain View West. Conditions are wonderful for biking. A new bridge is being installed at the far end of Moose Loop.
