I headed west hoping to find cooler temperatures. It rained almost all the way to Lake Louise, and is still raining in Canmore and Banff at 6 pm.
It was 0°C at Pipestone trailhead with 10 cm of new snow over yesterday’s tracksetting. I had success with fish-scale waxless skis. The skiers using wax were in high-heel mode. It snowed the whole time I was skiing.
Moraine Lake road already had about 6-8 cm of fresh snow at 4:30 pm over today’s tracksetting, and it was still snowing.
