The next few days will see lots of snow and colder weather in the mountains. Today, with a high of -2°C, is the warmest day in PLPP for the next seven days with Saturday being the coldest at -21.
Windy.com is predicting a total accumulation of 16 cm of snow in Kananaskis Village and PLPP by Saturday.
Amazingly for this time of year, West Bragg Creek is still viable and should only get better over the near future with 18 cm of new snow in the forecast along with colder temperatures.
West Bragg Creek trail report… “Conditions for classic skiing are very good especially on core trails such as West Crystal, East Crystal, Sundog, Loggers and Hostel Loop. Portions of East Mountain Road, MVW, Mountain View and Telephone have icy and wind swept sections. Caution on these trails is advised. Skate lanes on West/East Crystal, West Mountain Road and Sundog are in very good condition.”
The Live Grooming Report for PLPP shows grooming on Boulton Creek and Moraine yesterday. This morning’s grooming included Amos, Meadow, Woolley, and Wheeler
Canmore Nordic Centre
Yesterday’s tracksetting at CNC included Bow, Meadowview, and Banff trail. The trail report commented “Brilliant Conditions.”
The world cup races are coming to Canmore and preparations are underway at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Today, P5 is closed for World Cup preparations. Will re-open post-event.
Tunnel Mountain in Banff
Did you see the Groomer’s Report from the Tunnel Mountain Sledheads? ”
“Banff Tunnel Mtn Campground trails were groomed Mar 9. Fantastic conditions. This is a great place for families, new skiers and the after work crowd. We try to groom these trails 1-2 a week. The Parks Canada trail reports do not accurately reflect this.”
