We’re lucky to have skiing at Emerald Lake this winter, so let’s show our support
If you missed the news earlier this year, Parks Canada decided to end grooming of the xc trails in Yoho and Emerald Lake as a cost-saving measure. Thanks to some new developments, and some concerned people, there will indeed be grooming. This excerpt from an article in the Canmore Leader will bring you up to date:
“A popular cross-country ski area in Yoho National Park has been saved thanks to an agreement between Parks Canada and several organizations that benefit from it remaining open.
Approximately 15 kilometres of track set trails and a 5K loop on Emerald Lake will be available this winter after Parks Canada reached an agreement with Emerald Lake Lodge, Kicking Horse Ski Club and Emerald Lake Sports and Gifts to oversee the maintenance of the trails.”

If you enjoy skiing at Emerald Lake and Yoho, please help out
How about supporting the Kicking Horse Ski Club(KHSC) by purchasing a membership? It’s only $40, a small price to pay for having such wonderful skiing available.
An added benefit to your ski club membership is that you will be able to take advantage of these incredible special rates at two local establishments.
Any ski club membership will qualify, but if you are not a member of a club already, I think this is a great opportunity to help out. I was the first one to buy a membership, so I hope you’ll keep the ball rolling.
Send your $40 membership fee to
Kicking Horse Ski Club
The KHSC will send your membership card in the mail.
