Although Canmore has laid claim to Devon Kershaw, he grew up in Sudbury, ON. I came across this column(published yesterday) in the Sudbury Star where the writer makes a good case for giving Kershaw the recognition he deserves.

“Kershaw has created the expectation of excellence for Canada in Nordic skiing. He is consistently the top Canadian. We expect Canada to place in the top 20. There were times in the not-so-distant past (well, when there were no cellphones, Twitter, etc) that a Canadian male skier placing in the top 50 was cause for cheer in Nordic skiing.”

  1. Thanks for quoting my column.

Devon and the rest of the men’s and women’s nordic teams are incredible. To think that Own the Podium is working and showing what we can do if we properly support our athletes.

    Take care, LEY

  2. Devon Kershaww and his teammates are soooo under rated in our Canadian media.

    His accomplishments are monumental!
