Skiing fun started four days ago at Frozen Thunder, but blogging fun begins now with the start of our contests where you can win wonderful prizes.

When do you think we’ll see the first tracksetting on Elk Pass in Kananaskis Country? Go to the contest page and leave your guess. First prize is a free night’s accommodation in a suite at Stoney-Nakoda Resort and second prize is a free buffet dinner.
Stoney-Nakoda Resort is located near the entrance to K-Country. Their restaurant and lounge is great place to re-live the day’s events after a good day on the ski trails.
Elk pass in K-Country is usually one of the first places with skiable snow each winter. Going back in my records, its first tracksetting has been as early as Nov 12 and as late as Dec 13, so chances are it will fall somewhere within that 32-day range.
I’ve reworked the rules this year for second prize to give recognition to the first person who submits the correct date. I’ve also set a different date for the end of the contest, hoping to have all guesses in before tracksetting begins(although it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if snow arrived early).
