Chuck gets around. He took a day off from skiing to spectate and cheer for some friends and relatives at the Nipika Toby Creek Skate Loppet. He also took some photos of today’s racing action. You can see all Chuck’s photos Nipika Toby Creek skate race
Congratulations to Ian Murray for fastest overall in the 20K skate race with a time of 56:00. He cruised to the win with second place Erik Carleton a minute and fifty-four seconds behind. Carleton won yesterday’s classic 30K race in a time of 1:35.
Today’s fastest woman was Zina Kocher with a time of 59:21.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ian Murray on the trails a few times and he and his brothers were featured on this blog a few years ago in one one of my all-time favourite photos.

Here’s a short video of today’s race posted on Facebook
During my ski on Goat Creek yesterday, I took note of the signage, and have updated my Goat Creek Bridges posting. The “Caution” sign is no longer there, and has been replaced with a “Narrow Bridge” sign which hardly indicates the danger ahead.
