Large selection of used gear for sale at last year’s ski swap at Lifesport
If you had any thoughts of skiing at West Bragg Creek, read Tanya’s trip report to disabuse yourself of that notion. Warm weather will return this week and put an end to any more early-season skiing, so I’ll take this opportunity to mention a few things…
Ski Sales
The first of the three major ski sales happens in less than a week. This year, it’s nice to see all three sales are on separate weekends.
Fri Oct 19 – Sun Oct 21: Calgary New and Used Ski Sale at Max Bell arena. Admission is $8. Consignment occurs on Wed and Thur Oct 17, 18.
Sat Oct 27, Sun Oct 28: Lifesport’s Ski Swap. Consignments are being accepted now, and need to be in by Wednesday Oct 24 at 8 pm.
Sun Nov 4: Canmore Nordic Ski Club’s Ski Swap is held at the Bill Warren Training Centre at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Take note of the hours 10 a.m. -12 noon(if you’re willing to pay $20, you can get in at 9 a.m.). Consignment is on Saturday Nov 3 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon.
Season Passes on Sale
Canmore Nordic Centre season passes are 10% off until Oct 31. You can purchase season passes online.
Frozen Thunder
Frozen Thunder at the Canmore Nordic Centre is scheduled to open for skiing on Sat Oct 20. On weekends, Frozen Thunder is open all day to recreational skiers. On week days, it is reserved between 9 a.m. – 12 noon for training.
