Please support the continuation of ski trail grooming in Yoho and Emerald Lake by purchasing a $50 membership in the Kicking Horse Ski Club.
Parks Canada discontinued their tracksetting efforts in Yoho and Emerald Lake in 2012-2013.
This excerpt from an article in the Canmore Leader will bring you up to date:
“A popular cross-country ski area in Yoho National Park has been saved thanks to an agreement between Parks Canada and several organizations that benefit from it remaining open.
Approximately 15 kilometres of track set trails and a 5K loop on Emerald Lake will be available this winter after Parks Canada reached an agreement with Emerald Lake Lodge, Kicking Horse Ski Club and Emerald Lake Sports and Gifts to oversee the maintenance of the trails.”
If you enjoy skiing at Emerald Lake and Yoho, please help out
The initial fundraising drive was very successful and the KHSC has purchased their own snowmobile and tracksetting equipment. Thank you to everyone who bought a membership and/or donated money.
