A perfect day at Lake Louise
It was a beautiful day as Abraham and I led an enthusiastic group of 17 skiers on a trip up Moraine lake road. Conditions just keep getting better. The trail had been trackset and groomed last night and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
My novice group skied down tramline from the Chateau parking lot and as far as Paradise Creek. Two skiers, Liz and Mark, had new skis and were trying out this amazing activity for the first time. It didn’t take them long to master the art of keeping their balance and they were even snowplowing by the end of the day. More photos
I’ll be co-ordinating more novice trips throughout the winter, so watch for them if you are a new skier or just want ski at a relaxed pace.
We’re getting some good snow conditions closer to home, so next weekend’s trip will probably be into K-Country. I hope you can join us!
I see we received some good comments on the previous post. That’s pretty exciting to hear that Emerald Lake should be ready soon. Also received this email from Brian:
just a note on the weekend conditions.
we skied chester lake on sat. and were amazed at the snow for mid november. we actually got some turns coming back down without hitting anything below the snow. today i skied up to boom lake; good snow but not as much as chester. It was still good for november but there is more snow in k. country.
tomorrow off to sunshine for some early season telemark lift assisted skiing.
cheers

“I like your skihere.ca, thanks for the info on the new snow down
Kananaskis. I skied the Elk Pass trail on Sunday morning, tracks were
in great shape all the way from the parking lot to the top. Some people
had skied the hydroline and a few had made an attempt at Tyrwitt but
that would have been hard going as the base has not been packed.”
hi bob,i groomed 1A again today. tomorow i’ll do moraine again, maybe fairview too.
