As I was speculating this morning, Lake O’Hara fire road was trackset today. I didn’t ski it, but I stopped on my way home from Emerald Lake and took the photos. The temperature at 5 pm was -3°C. It looked enticing. Redearth Creek
I’ll have a good news update on Elk Pass and Blueberry Hill later tonight. In the mean time, I wanted to post the photo of Confederation parking. Thanks to Mike W for sending in the pic. I thought we had it good at Elk Pass
Conditions were excellent on Lake O’Hara fire road today. Cold snow, clean, firm tracks, vivid blue skies, and the highlight of the day, a big hug from Janet.

Trip Report from Chuck submitted on April 13: “With 3 cms of fresh velvety snow on top of a solid base, Lake O’Hara was a great choice today.” Chuck thought he saw a grizzly
-Inga, Vivian and Skipper were on their way to do some winter camping- Thanks for all the Trip Reports. With limited options these days, it’s very helpful
Conditions were excellent on Lake O’Hara fire road today. Cold snow, clean, firm tracks, no post-holes in the middle, vivid blue skies, and lots of big smiles.
Lake O’Hara fire road is one of the most scenic trails known to humankind, and today, Ray, Mary, Keith and I had the pleasure of being able to use our waxable skis. 🙂
