Steve Riggs sent some great photos and an update(just a note to all track skiers…don’t attempt these backcountry trips on skinny skis):
Hi Bob,
Track skiing has been on the backburner lately, with most of my attention focused on the excellent backcountry skiing conditions in K- Country.
The great powder skiing continued on Saturday, in the larch glades of Tent Ridge.
It was really about as good as it gets!
I should add that- similar to most places where you find slopes that offer good backcountry powder turns, Tent Ridge has serious avalanche potential. Skiers have died there! Please don’t go unless you have training, are properly equipped and have the experience to assess the situation.
It was back to xc skiing on Sunday, with superb winterlike conditions at Blueberry and Elk Pass.
a credit- skier in the photos is my brother Andy Riggs.
