Cougar in Ribbon creek area

Thank you, trip reporters, for the prompt updates today. Lots of excitement which everyone has probably read about by now, but if you haven’t seen the previous updates and trip reports…. due to a cougar kill, there are some closures in effect for Ribbon creek west of Link junction, and Link. Check the Trip Reports and the Kananaskis trail report for more details. Pat Davis has posted photos of the dead elk.

Don’t forget, it’s the Cookie race in PLPP on Saturday. Pocaterra will be crawling with vehicles and skiers. Good luck to all the racers!

According to Steve Riggs, there’s some skiable snow at West Bragg.

I drove a long way today to check out a ski area that I’ve never been to before. I only had time to ski for an hour before dark closed in, but there was a full moon and it was beautiful. Air temperature was -4°C, and the snow was cold. VR40(-4/-12) worked very well. Elevation 1420 metres which is the same as Canmore Nordic centre. I’ll fill you in tomorrow, but here are a few photos to see if anyone knows where it is.
