The best cross-country skiers in the world will be competing at the Canmore Nordic Centre from March 8 – 12. The event is expected to reach 60 million TV viewers worldwide.
If you can’t attend in person, you can watch Tuesday’s sprint finals live on the internet starting at 1:00 pm. Qualifying starts at 10:30 a.m.

Nice to see Canada’s Alex Harvey in 4th spot in the Ski Tour overall standings. There are no fewer than five Norwegians in the top 10. I figured it was only fitting to feature their flag. All participating countries’ flags are displayed along the road as you approach the nordic centre.
The recreational trails at CNC are open for skiing at all times. Each race day before 4 pm you would be required to bring your skis on the shuttle bus. After 4 pm, parking is available to the public.

I just saw Risto on CBC player as the women’s 10km pursuit was taking place.
Go Risto !
I spent the day volunteering with the course setup crew today. It was warm and sunny and was great watching the teams ski the courses. Amazing how fast they were going down the icy tracks this morning and how they make climbing the step hills look easy.
It should be a great day on Tuesday setting up for and watching the sprint races. Hope to see a set of the crystal globes globes awarded in the afternoon.
