I took the above photo around 5:15 pm with the help of my car’s headlights. I drove over to the Elk Pass trailhead after skiing on yesterday’s groomed/trackset trails in PLPP. I’ll have an update on those later tonight.
Congratulations to Herb Kruschke for picking the correct date in the
Elk Pass contest. He really went out on a limb by picking Dec 9 and as a result of his amazing prediction ability, he is a double winner. He wins a free night at Stoney-Nakoda Resort for picking the date, and a free buffet dinner for being the first person who picked that date. Now maybe Herb can tell us when Ribbon Creek will be trackset? How about Goat Creek? How about when this cold spell will end?
I was hoping to catch Jody in the snowcat at Elk Pass but must have just missed him. The Live Grooming Report indicates that Elk Pass, Hydroline, Blueberry Hill, and Patterson were all groomed, and further remarks “All trails groomed on Dec 9th were also trackset, though the tracksetting may be incomplete in some areas due to thin snow.”
Whoop whoop!
Ribbon Creek – this Saturday
Goat Creek – same
This coincides with the end of the cold snap, or at least that’s what Environment Canada predicts. Now to my pre-buffet breathing exercises…
