West Bragg Creek
Hi Bob,
A couple of New Years presents- fresh tracksetting on most of the
trails, from the GBCTA, and warm sunny weather with a temperature
of – 4 at West Bragg Creek, to ring in the new year.
Unfortunately, a visit from the grinch as well- in the form of morons
off-roading on parts of Crystal Line and Sundog on New Years eve.
Despite that, it was a great afternoon ski on Crystal Line-Moose Loop-
Moose Connector-Sundog-Crystal Line.
All in all, conditions are mainly quite good for West Bragg, but vary
from excellent, to poor with minimal coverage in a few spots,
sometimes in the space of 100 m.
I would recommend skiing Moose in a CCW direction to avoid the worst
spot, which is on the twisty downhill near the south corner of the
loop.
The truck tracks were not too much of an issue on east Sundog, in my
opinion. I would also recommend skiing it CCW as the long gentle
downhill is nice and quick, with the fast hard tracksetting.
Cheers,
Steve Riggs

Received the following photos and report from Robson King:
“After reading your description of the trails in Yoho (Emerald lake etc), we decided to spend New Years in Field and give them a try (quite a few reasonably priced guest houses in Field to stay at).
