Feb 20 update from K-Country: “Thanks to the Pisten Bully mechanic the troubled snowcat has now been limped off the trails and with a machine borrowed from the Ribbon Creek system grooming has resumed in PLPP.”
The PLPP Live Grooming Report has posted the following:
Feb 18: The snow cat is currently immobile in the middle of Blueberry trail at about the halfway point- use caution when descending. Before the mechanical difficulties Elk Pass to north Hydroline junction, Hydroline, and Blueberry Hill were groomed but not trackset and Elk Pass from Blueberry to south Hydroline junction was groomed and trackset. There will be no snow cat grooming in PLPP until further notice.
That’s unfortunate. Hopefully they can get the machine up and running for the cookie race!
This is very unfortunate news for skiers and other trail users. I certainly hope Alberta Parks and Environment is able to rectify the situation and enable grooming to proceed again in PLPP as soon as possible. It is certainly a sought after destination for not just locals but tourists alike.
