(All the photos can be made much larger by clicking on them.) You know you’ve stumbled upon something pretty special when people ask if it’s for real.
Chuck says,
“Having scared her off the trail into the bushes on my descent, I stopped and talked softly to her. She actually “meowed” so I waited longer, because I had also seen kitten tracks. In no time she climbed back on the trail in front of me and was totally relaxed. There were many snowshoe hare tracks in the area.”
The sighting was on Redearth Creek in Banff National park. You can see all Chuck’s photos from this ski trip on Redearth Creek to Shadow Lake.
Thank you for sharing. Amazing.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!
That tail! Those feet! Looks like she is strutting down the cat walk.
God Lord!
This is what I live for.
Yesterday I went to demonstrate against trophy hunting at the Delta hotel south, we got a lot of support from passing motorists.
There was a time in this fair land when the lynx could run freely, now it is hunted like a worthless object but there are kind souls like Chuck who absorb the immense pleasure of the encounter and share these priceless images so we can all respect and preserve.
I didn’t mention it yesterday because it is so discouraging and depressing, but snowmobiles were on the BC side of Elk Pass. Some of these dudes are trappers which is allowed on the BC side. I wrote a blog post about it last winter The wolf killers of Elk Pass
Thanks… to all those who will retain these images as a positive reminder of Respect.
