We’ve had a few more cm of snow overnight in Canmore. I see they’ve groomed and trackset the main trails at the nordic centre. It should be an easy day to wax with the colder temperatures. It says -8 on my backyard thermometer, and it’s forecast to stay below zero.
The Visitor Centre in PLPP reports that Elk Pass and Blueberry were groomed last night, but word has it that the roads(#1 and #40 into Kananaskis)are in poor driving condition.

I enjoyed reading Ben and Karen Silverberg’s reports this winter, not only for the trail updates, but for the restaurant reviews, too! Ben and Karen sent me this email this morning:
Sadly, all good things must end and the terrific skiing season we had this year is quickly coming to an end. For us, it’s done: I’ve cleaned our skis and put on a protective wax layer for storage. From mid November to mid April, this has been one of the best seasons in recent memory. Before Karen and I run off to provision our sailboat BayB, docked in the quaint village of Kaslo on Kootenay Lake, we wanted to thank you for your dedication and commitment to the sport and recreation of cross-country skiing. Ski Here! has become an invaluable resource for anyone venturing out on cross-country skis and on those days when its been impossible to get out, we have delighted in reading about your adventures. Ski Here! has nurtured a growing following that mimics the increasing popularity of cross-country skiing in southern Alberta and neighbouring BC. I cannot imagine one without the other!! Be safe and may the off-season be a short one!!
