Get ready for Frozen Thunder

At 4 pm today, the Pisten-Bully was sitting silently on the biathlon range, waiting patiently for the trucks to finish dumping snow on one small section

The video below shows a truck dumping the final load to complete one of the Frozen Thunder trails. Frozen Thunder will be groomed and ready for skiing on Sat Oct. 21. Expectations are that we’ll have 2K of trails to ski on.

Your eyes don’t deceive you. The miraculous phenomenon known as Frozen Thunder is taking shape at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

-Moraine Lake road at Lake Louise saw a few skiers today but has not been groomed yet- It was fun running into Diana Piggott at the Moraine Lake road trailhead today.

Ski sales this weekend

I can’t believe I still have the receipt for my Fischer SCS skis which were purchased in 2001(for $299.00). I’m kind of sentimental about these skis which I’ll be selling at the Canmore Nordic Ski Club’s sale this weekend.

Frozen Thunder grows

-Skiers on the new trail which opened today at Frozen Thunder- Another 500 metres of track opened today at the incredible Frozen Thunder ski trail at the Canmore Nordic Centre.

It’s a miracle! Skiing started in Canmore today

-Frozen Thunder at the Canmore Nordic Centre is open for skiing- When I arrived at 8:55 a.m. the temperature was zero with a cloudy sky.

-Grading Frozen Thunder with the snow cat- Paul had just jumped into the snow cat when I arrived at Frozen Thunder around 5 pm. He was about to make the first pass
