Andrew sent in a report and photos regarding West Bragg Creek:
“we did some Bragg Creek trails this afternoon, conditions were fair, as illustrated on the attached pictures. We started with the east side of Crystal Line, then part of Sundog, Iron Springs, short cut to the west side and back north along the Elbow Trail. Only short section, ~1 km, from Iron Creek to the next junction was groomed, the rest of the trails were snowmobile packed”
Cheryl, Tessa, Sophie and I spent a very pleasant two hours out here as well today. We skied Sundog and the entire Crystal Line. Andrew has described it well. Fair conditions with packed trails. Yesterday’s strong winds have littered some sections of trail with pine needles. The warmer temperature today has not caused the snow to deteriorate, but some people I talked with were having a bit of trouble getting their wax to grip. We used our waxless skis today which was a good choice considering the pine needles and warmer temperature.
Just a reminder to check the “All Trail Reports” link on my sidebar for updates from the various ski areas. If you are making weekend plans, keep in mind the forecast highs for Sat & Sun are -20 and -23. There’s 5-10 cm of snow predicted for Friday with lesser amounts on Saturday.
