Comments on the weekend’s skiing

Did anyone find a good place to ski this weekend? I’m hoping to go somewhere tomorrow…what’s it like in PLPP?

  1. Found the Spray (W side) towards Goat Creek slick. Tracksetting was still evident but, without grooming, snowplowing on downhills seemed treacherous. Most recent snow had crust on top so it was easy to ‘catch an edge’ & lose it. Gorgeous day otherwise.

  2. Shark was AMAZING on Saturday – one of the best dumps of snow I’ve seen all winter – it was paradise out there!

  3. I was out at Mt. Shark today and had lots of fun! None of the trails were groomed however for the most part conditions were surprisingly good (note I’m not a die-hard track skier). Nice powder on the shady downhills (Daffern’s Delight, Bonser’s Bends, the Luge) except for one icy spot that made for good entertainment as I just about lost it. Some of the sun exposed areas were a bit icy/crusty but even those areas were nice. I had blue (0 to -7) with mystery layers underneath. We skied the Red/Yellow/Green, then Red, then cut out Red/Black to do the loop with the picnic table by the creek, then came back in at Junction 9, to 14, 12 to 11 where we turned around and came back via the Meanders where we re-joined the Watridge Lake Trail at 19 to head back to the car. Beautiful day!
