Skogan Pass

If you’re looking for fantastic views and want a great workout, Skogan Pass fits the bill. Alf Skrastins sent these photos and report on Saturday(and I apologize for not getting this on here sooner):

 Hi Bob,

Conditions were very good on Saturday at the Ribbon Creek trails. I skied the Skogan Loop and Highline trails today and found the skiing to be very good on any of the trails on the Nakiska side of the Ribbon Creek trails.

These trails have been recently groomed and the tracksetting was impeccable. The snow was a bit harder and sun-glazed at the lower elevations near the start. After the junction with the Marmot Creek trail, the snow just got better and better with elevation.

The descent from the top of Skogan loop was very fast and smooth. The trails on this side are definitely not for beginners, as you lose about 600m elevation from top to bottom. But if you like fast downhills, these are great trails!
