Snow on the way

There’s a snowfall warning in effect with 10-15 cm expected for the mountains so it may give us some better conditions if any of it is groomed. Calgary is expecting  up to 20 cm, so it may extend the ski season in West Bragg. Peter Lougheed Park is planning on tracksetting until Easter, so it should freshen things up in that locale. Temperatures are cooling off for a couple days at least.

I’ve been stuck in Calgary since Tuesday, and it’s doubtful if I’ll be on the ski trails this weekend. I hope someone will give us an update tomorrow.

I received an email from Alasdair Fergusson saying that Shaganappi and Confederation are now closed to skiing for this year.

One Comment:

  1. We skied the Bow/Banff loop at the Nordic Centre this afternoon. Don’t let the soft conditions on the grid or the first part of Banff trail put you off – once you’re on Bow, away from the heavy-traffic areas, the snow hardens quite a bit, and we had a good ski despite the warm temperatures. The new snow and colder temps coming will make for continued good conditions.
