Conditions at Lake Louise are tremendous. Great Divide, Moraine Lake road and Tramline have excellent grooming, tracks, and cold snow to make for easy waxing.
Air temperature was -6 with nary a breath of wind. Absolutely perfect.
Many hilites today – seeing Debbie and Debbie, who were out for their first ski of the season, with big smiles.
-Encountering a pine marten on the trail and watching its antics. I was within 20 metres of it. A better camera would come in handy for occasions like this.
The snow was fast today. Coming down the hill on MLR I hit a new high of 46 km/hour(without crashing!) Lower Tramline to the train station has a good track and I’ve never experienced it so fast, not even during the Loppet.
Paradise is indeed the correct name for this place.
Just a reminder, there is an update on Chester Lake on the “Trip Reports” page. Frank’s report from yesterday was encouragement for me to ski the Lower Tramline today. Glad I did.
