We’ve had a bonus this year on Moraine Lake road, with 10 days of skiing already in the books, but a good rule of thumb is that we are usually skiing here by Nov 11, so right on schedule, it was snowing today, with 4 cm already on the trail by 4 pm.
The temperature was -1°C, so the snow was the moist, high-density variety. With at least 10-15 cm expected, along with some very cold temperatures, we should have decent conditions by Friday, considering there’s already a good base.
If the snow is too wet to groom tomorrow(Wed), it should be in workable shape by Thursday when the expected high is only -9°C.
Driving back, the passing lane was already snow-covered. It snowed until the Sunshine overpass, at which time it turned to rain. Could be some treacherous driving conditions around here in the morning.
