This family of bears was observed by Cheryl along the Bow Valley parkway near Lake Louise yesterday. 
The photos were taken using an IPhone, and as I’m glad to report, from quite a distance. Hence, they are not the clearest photos, but at least the photographer was giving the bears their space and not imposing on them. Cheryl reports that a park warden was present and was trying to keep people from getting out of their vehicles. He did mention that a couple kids had come within three feet of the bears as the warden was arriving on the scene. Cheryl was observing the speed limit on the Bow Valley parkway but numerous vehicles tailgated her and flashed their lights, wanting to pass.

There are plenty of pullouts, I just make them wait.
I’d be real tempted to call dispatch for parks, if there is such a thing.
Three feet?????? I wonder if he meant three metres, which is still awfully close?!!
