Good news re: Moraine Lake road

-After packing/rolling today, Moraine Lake road should look something like this.-

Tracksetter Jeff at Lake Louise sent me an email this morning:

“Dave and I will machine pack / roll and potentially trackset MLR today.”

The new blog header is a photo I took last year on the first day of tracksetting on Moraine Lake road. It was Nov 6. Does anyone know the names of the two happy skiers in the photo?

With the cold temperatures, this snow will definitely still be here on the weekend. Are you planning an overnight trip to Lake Louise? The Mountaineer Lodge is offering 20% off their already low rates to my readers starting on Friday Nov 14. Enter the promo code SKIHERE when making your reservation.

It’s snowing again in Canmore this morning. In addition to 7 cm yesterday, about 2 cm has fallen today. The PLPP webcam shows a nice covering of snow in the meadow by the Visitor Centre. I wonder how much they got at Elk pass?

By tonight, I hope we have reports on conditions at West Bragg Creek.

Things are looking good at the Canmore Nordic Centre with all this new snow along with their efficient and productive snow-making capabilities. They are freshening up Frozen Thunder today, so it will be closed until Tuesday morning when you should have excellent conditions. With the cold temperatures, you’ll be able to use your waxable skis, too.
