Update Fri Nov 7 @ 7:53 pm: Thanks to Lanny for the latest news: “Hi Bob:
Stopped briefly at the moraine lake trail head and Lake Louise on our way
to Golden this afternoon. What was a passable ski surface is no longer. The wind and warmer temps have played havoc on the snow that was. Think we will be searching far and wide for a place to ski this weekend. Probably making our way back to frozen thunder.”
Save yourself from the frustration of going to Lake Louise on Saturday. Let’s hope the Sunday forecast comes true.

If there is no new snow by Saturday morning, your skis will be hitting pavement if all we have is the snow which Chuck reported on yesterday.
Whatever snow does accumulate, it should stay around with the cold temperatures that are in store.
It appears that Calgary is going to get snow on Sunday followed by cold temperatures. Hopefully West Bragg will get a dump, and the cold will preserve it.
There’s always 2.2K of guaranteed snow at Canmore’s Frozen Thunder. The snow guns should be going full blast with the cold temps next week.

I’m happy to announce that Nipika Mountain Resort is back on the blog this winter. We’ll be following their snow and trail reports.
We’ve stayed at Nipika many times(the Mitchell cabin has become our second home), and the trail system and grooming is fantastic. A featured event at Nipika this winter is the Ski Week in January. Click on the ad for all the details. Another reason we like going to Nipika is the fact that it’s dog-friendly. Tessa the springer spaniel can ski alongside of us. If you enjoy skiing with your dog, you should familiarize yourself with the tab on my menu under Resources Dog-friendly ski trails.
