“Our trails are officially open for the 2016/2017 season!
The skate skiing is in good condition, the classic skiing is fair to good with some early season hazards. All trails have been packed for skate skiing and the classic track has been set around the warming hut meadow loop. See you soon on the trails!”
Nipika is a very dog-friendly ski resort. The main menu has a button which opens a page with all the dog-friendly ski areas.

Confederation Golf Course update re: Snowmaking
While we do have official project approval, we still need to:
- Provide a couple more (easy) submittals to the City,
- Round up a few more hardy volunteers,
- Finalize some equipment preparation,
- And then keep an eye on the weather.
My hope is that we are blowing snow before the New Year, providing a nice base to ensure good skiing for the rest of the winter!

The trail report from Canmore Nordic Centre indicates the Banff Loop is now open as well as the Bow loop. This is all on man-made snow.
Many trails in the south end of PLPP were trackset in the past two days. Kananaskis Fire Lookout has been groomed and trackset in its entirety now. It might be warmer up at that elevation? Check the Live Grooming Report for more details.
The Bill Milne and Wedge Connector have been groomed. The report says a thin snow cover with some hazards. Read the Live Grooming Report.
20/20 Update from Bragg Creek Ski Grooming: “We have just 5 days left in our 20/20 fundraiser! We are currently sitting at $16,280 – getting close, but just need one last push to get over the line.” Donate
If you were planning on skiing with your dog at the Campground and Bow river loops in Lake Louise, don’t. They are both closed due to flooding. Better go to Nipika instead, one of the few places where your dog can run offleash.
