Thanks to Manfred Kintop, we have some nice photos of the Sandy McNabb ski trails. I recognize most of the locations where these were taken, and they
bring back a lot of good memories of skiing there. It looks like some much-needed new signage has been installed.
At the side is one of the few photos I have of the area. I remember co-ordinating a Calgary Ski Club trip to Sandy McNabb in 2004. It was snowing so heavily, we missed a turn and ended up off the main trails.
In case you missed it, Manfred just posted this comment regarding Maple Ridge golf course:
“Sometimes, picking up a phone works! I just spoke to a City of Calgary administrator who is following up on my 311 call. Apparently, an engineering group is conducting some groundwater testing on the North East end of Maple Ridge. The administrator suspects that these are the individuals who have been driving over the track-setting and will be in contact with the firm’s management to ensure their employees are both staying off the ski trails and not doing Mach 1 when travelling across the course.”
More photos of Sandy McNabb…
Hi There are these photos of Sandy McNabb as of Jan. 17, 2017 as per Bob’s date of his comment above? Thanks, if so I will go there on Sunday! Thanks for posting!
Too late, Julie. This weeks powerful Chinook has melted most of the snow and whatever snow remains has turned to ice.
Too bad… it was really good, while it lasted
Thanks Alf!
