The Emerald Lake trails were being packed late this afternoon while I was skiing on them. Tracksetter Hans finished packing Tree Hugger, Horse trail, Alluvial Fan, and the trail across the lake. At 6:30 pm, as I finished skiing, Hans was attaching the tracksetter to trackset the same trails. Should be fabulous conditions in the morning although there’s 2 cm of snow in the forecast for tonight.
There’s at least 15 cm of new snow on the above trails, enough to cover the icy conditions which persisted since it rained here a couple weeks ago.
The air temperature was -4 and the snow was -7. The low tonight is predicted to be -20 and the high tomorrow -7. Could be a green wax ski tomorrow.
The Emerald Connector has about 5 cm of fresh snow over the recent tracksetting.
Skiing everywhere has been amazing this last week! Cascade trail was excellent today too. Saw some fresh wolf tracks near the campground . Get out there before the snow deteriorates?.
